Kick-Off General Assembly – Laying the Foundations for MULTICARE

The MULTICARE project officially launched during its Kick-Off General Assembly in the Netherlands, uniting 21 partners to align visions and lay the groundwork for this Horizon Europe-funded initiative. Hosted by TU Delft and AMS Institute, the meeting introduced the project’s mission: to deliver climate-resilient and adaptable solutions for the built environment through a combination of retrofitting strategies and digital innovation.

During the two-day event, work package leaders presented their objectives, highlighting interdependencies, expected outcomes, and the importance of real-world demonstrators. Parallel sessions focused on critical workstreams such as resilience KPIs, data integration, and sensor deployment. Participants shared potential risks and challenges, reinforcing the need for collaboration across technical, social, and policy areas. Early discussions also set the stage for designing modular retrofitting solutions and assessing feasibility within various European building archetypes.

This first gathering set a collaborative tone, reinforcing the project’s ambition to bridge the gap between research and practical deployment.
