2nd General Assembly – Connecting Strategy and Practice in Naples

📍 Naples & Acerra, 15–16 April 2024

The second General Assembly of the MULTICARE project took place in Naples and at the Acerra Demonstrator Site, providing a crucial opportunity for partners to reflect on the project’s progress and align the next phases of implementation.

A significant portion of the assembly was dedicated to on-site updates from Acerra, where structural investigations have been completed and a timber exoskeleton retrofit solution is in development. The building model and BIM framework are in place, and thermal sensors have been selected for upcoming installation. The design phase is ongoing, with final architectural elements being determined in coordination with the local housing authority (ACER). The goal is to improve seismic resilience, reduce heating demand, and enhance indoor comfort, all while maintaining architectural coherence and respecting existing infrastructure constraints.

In parallel, other work packages presented updates on key aspects like hazard modelling, resilience KPIs, and data exchange protocols. The importance of integrated digital tools and feedback mechanisms for cross-demonstrator learning was emphasised.

The GA in Naples not only advanced technical workstreams but also reinforced the need for engagement with local stakeholders and authorities. Coordination between structural, digital, and user-focused elements was identified as essential for ensuring real-world relevance and replicability across different European contexts.
